This commission was particularly exciting to us due to our shared interest in the work of influential surrealist film maker Jan Svankmeyer. We were tasked with writing the score and the foley for this ambitious short film by writer director - Elena Saorin.

For the teaser trailer we wanted the music to evoke the film and its influences, the handmade fairytale faintly Victorian dreamy feel and aesthetic, and to reflect the manner of movement and psychology of the central doll character's frustrated, uncertain desire to become human. Once we found the rhythm for this piece, it very naturally and instinctively came together using among other things the key sound of an old accordion, and a childs Zippy Zither.
