SYNOPSIS
Hung, a young Vietnamese man, is trafficked abroad on the promise of a job and a new life. Forced to work in a cannabis factory upon arrival, he becomes a prisoner in a new world.
Based on a real life case study from ECPAT UK.
Originally an entry for an architectural short film competition, Natural Capital is by Paul Fuller of Scarytree Films. Beautifully shot entirely on an iPhone 5s! visually responding to the song Road by Cool Fun (Sarah Johns/Max Jung).
This commission was particularly exciting to us due to our shared interest in the work of influential surrealist film maker Jan Svankmeyer. We were tasked with writing the score and the foley for this ambitious short film by writer director - Elena Saorin.
For the teaser trailer we wanted the music to evoke the film and its influences, the handmade fairytale faintly Victorian dreamy feel and aesthetic, and to reflect the manner of movement and psychology of the central doll character's frustrated, uncertain desire to become human. Once we found the rhythm for this piece, it very naturally and instinctively came together using among other things the key sound of an old accordion, and a childs Zippy Zither.
On 15 September 2013, a giant polar bear - Aurora - led a procession to the doors of Shell's London HQ to protest about plans to drill for oil in the Arctic.
Watch the journey of how she came to be, from conception and construction all the way through to that moment when she carried the names of the millions who want to save the Arctic to Shell's doorstep.
We were very pleased to receive this commission, but were only given just over 2 weeks, a rough breif and some raw footage to conceive, write, record and master this soundtrack. It was worth the long hours to be a part of this important and inspirational film. Commissioned by Greenpeace it highlights the ongoing scramble by oil companies to exploit oil reserves in the Arctic and the fight to save this spellbinding landscape and its inhabitants.
The breif was to create music that was serious but not so depressing that no one would want to watch. That expressed the plight and gravity of the situation in the Arctic while at the same time reflecting the purity, beauty and grandeur of a unique and precious environment. The inspiring industry and creativity of the artists, artisans, and technicians who tirelessly created and built Aurora. People power, connection with the environment and the projects particular style of design aesthetic.

We embrace both signed and un-signed talent. Our aim is to showcase the latest genres of music and create a platform for new music with international appeal.
